Turbo-HD cameras utilize traditional analog CCTV technologies and topology, in contrast to newer IP cameras that rely on digital components and mediums to capture images and process footage before transmitting it for storage, management and viewing. However, it is not possible to physically differentiate between the two, as they share a similar appearance. Instead of the onboard signal processing method employed by IP cameras, analog cameras transmit signals to the DVR for footage processing, storage, management and viewing.
Turbo -HD cameras especially from HIKVISION support different signal types such as CVBS, CVI,TVI and AHD which all are switchable using a button on one of the cables attached to the camera. Other powerful features are available on this type of cameras as well, which include mobile viewing,night lingt vision by ColourVu technology, two way audio and other powerful options.
